Need rest. rec in Cambridge/Boston area

Hi!

We live in the western suburbs and rarely venture into Boston/Cambridge to eat anymore.

I need a recommendation of a good place for dinner that's open on a Sunday night not too far from the Hyatt Regency Cambridge area -- either italian or seafood preferred but I am open to other suggestions. I don't want to break the bank --- but good food and wine is a must.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Although it gets mixed reviews here, I'd add East Coast Grill if you are specifically interested in seafood. It's in Inman.

I have been hearing great things about Tavern on the square. It is on Mass ave. between harvard and central squares. Creative, comfortable cuisine at good prices. Also, supposedly a great brunch. Its my next stop when I eat out because all my friends are pushing me to check the place out.

I found the food unpleasantly salty at Tavern on the Square when I went. For pub grub in the Central Square vicinity, I'd much sooner suggest River Gods or Miracle of Science; there have also been good reports of the burgers at the Cantab Lounge, though I haven't been. But that's not likely what the OP has in mind.

Tavern on the Square ... NO. It is just a standard pub, and not a very good one at that. Nothing "creative" about it, unless you consider burgers and nachos "creative". Definitely not worth a trip from the suburbs!

If you are in Central Sq, I strongly recommend Rendezvous. Now there's a place worth driving into town for.

You should consider Dante. I have had a few good experiences there.

I'll second Dante. Good views of the Charles river too. Other options: BlueRoom in Kendall Sq., Salts on Main St, Oleana on Broadway (I think).
