any place in NY/CT have Fried Oreos for dessert?

ok - we just had one of the best meals I have had in a LONG time in Miami at Prime 112 - of all the amazing, mouth watering sides and steaks the thing my husband is now dreaming of is the Fried Oreo dessert. I have looked up a recipe for it but would love to know if any restaurants in Westchester or CT may serve this delectible delight as I am SURE my version will not hold a candle to the one we had at Prime 112. I know these were a hot item at county fairs a few years back along with fried twinkies and snickers etc.... but would love to know if we can get it anyplace else.

  1. If you're willing to go into the city, RUB (at 23rd and 7th) has it on their menu. If you go, their barbecue is very good, and be sure to try the onion strings, as one good fried thing deserves another.

    1. The only place I have seen them in Connecticut is at Lake Compounce up in the Waterbury area. And, they were not the best...

      1. Actually, this new place in Eastchester called "Chubby's Express" just opened. They are only delivery and takeout but they make everything from pizza to pasta to meatloaf to turkey and other "Italian-American" stuff (as they call it). I was looking at their menu and of course, the first thing my eye sees is "Desserts" which listed the most TEMPTING of goodies!!! Fried twinkies, fried oreos, fried CANNOLLIS?!!?!?!?!? YEP!!! I haven't tried the place yet, but it looks fun!

        1. They have Fried Oreos at Fortunato's Villa Pasta* in New Fairfield, CT. It's a tiny little place, lacking in deco, but with usually great service and huuuuuge family-style portions of good Italian-American food at incredible prices. Try the seafood pasta before you indulge on the Fried Oreos.

Are there any other good restaurants in the New Fairfield area?

Don't waste your time with Fortunatos Villa Pasta. It's a dump. The first thing you are greeted with is drinkers from the bar right outside the front door smoking. The dining room chairs are so filthy you have to wonder what the kitchen is like. The food is just average.

          2. LAVO in NYC has amazing ones!!
