Katsu at Kaffe Imperial

My family and I decided to try this restaurant after a review in the dining out section of the Friday newspaper a couple of weeks ago. Overall it wasn't bad. I thought it was a good combination of price, quantity and quality. The katsu plates we had were in the $9-10 range and consisted of miso soup, rice, pickles, shredded cabbage, japanese potato salad and a nice piece of katsu. The chicken katsu was freshly cooked, crisp and not greasy at all. There is a container of katsu sauce on each table.

I would be willing to make a return visit, maybe try the the katsu donburi next time. It is located in the ground floor area of a condo building at 725 Kapiolani Boulevard. Street parking is available around the building.

  1. I like the traditional tonkatsu (pork) there very much. Some friends and I were just talking about this place the other day and we all have favorable impressions of the food. Good quality and a good value.
