Restaurant with a pond, fountain, pool, aquarium?

bloomers Jan 8, 2008 02:02 PM

I'm on a search for a not-pricey restaurant with a prominent water feature - fountain, pool, pond, mermaid tank... you name it. Below 23rd street would be ideal, but will travel for water.
Alternatives would be restaurants with a great view of one of the above (besides the obvious Central Park Boat House, Chelsea Piers river-view spots)
Any thoughts?

Suba might fit the bill, provided you sit in the grotto.

Many Chinese restaurants in Chinatown would have some form of aquarium.

Crispo (Italian, on West 14th St.) has a sizeable back room with high ceilings, a big water feature, and a fireplace. As you walk in from the street, you wouldn't even know it was there. As he led us through the front dining room, we thought the waiter was leading us into the kitchen until he suddenly turned right.

Rosa Mexicana on 18th St. has a giant water feature.

Aja has fish pond, partially covered with glass so you can walk over it

The dining room at Bann is accessed via a walkway surrounded by a waterfall. I believe there's also a waterfall at the Haru on Park Ave.
