Recommendations for a downtown spot

I am looking to meet with a friend today evening to get drinks/dinner and we are looking for a restaurant that's reasonably quiet, not too expensive ($$) and somewhere we can linger for a couple of hours.

Any recommendations? We aren't particular about the cuisine as long as there are a few vegetarian options on the menu. Bonus points if it is close to BART.

How about Cafe Claude (near Union Square) or Le Charm, for a quiet bistro? Both less expensive than the restaurants mentioned above.

Very nice rustic interior with fireplace, good food lots of vegetarian options, great service, comfortable space. I walk from BART up to this area all the time not a bad walk.

I would try the bar area of Cosmopolitan Cafe at Rincon Center

I'd vote Ducca in the Westin Hotel. Very spacious, nice looking place and great food. There are options for veggies too.
