Brunch places around W 57th

Hi Chowhounders,

My mom is coming in Sunday January 20th to celebrate her retirement. We are taking her for a massage on West 57th. Can anyone recommend a good brunch place around there. I already looked at Norma's, but they don't have any reservations that would fit into our scheduled. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I would recommend the beautiful (and underrated) 8 1/2 on West 57th Street. Dramatic setting and always tasty cooking.

All the recs above look great, but it looks like we are going to do dinner now. Any suggestions for dinner around the same area?

Town, beacon and insieme are all excellent choices. insieme was voted one of the top 10 new restaurants for 2007. if you like greek, Milos or Molyvos are great choices.

the new restaurant on W. 54th is supposed to be great. Think it's called Grayz--it's gotten some nice press (nice enough that I might even ignore the cheeseball spelling)

It's not West Side but on E 55th you have one of my NY favorites, Aquavit. If you look into this you would want the dining room not the cafe.

Try Insieme. I believe they do breakfast/lunch/dinner 7 days a week. They are located at the Michelangelo Hotel
