Which deli serves the best sweet and sour cabbage soup?

I will drive anywhere in LA/OC/SFV/SGV...

I have not had a chance to it this yet, but I just heard from a source I consider very reliable that the Bagel Factory on Sepulveda at National in the Palms area serves up an incredibly delicious sweet & sour cabbage soup. I gave them a call to find out which days they have it and was told that they don't have a definite schedule but they have it most of the time. So, before heading over there, it's a good idea to call first to make sure.

I agree about Katella Deli! Amazing. I like the extra tomato factor.

Also the zucchini muffins are to die for.

Thank you everyone!!! I cannot wait to try all of these options and report back! I called Greenblatt's (because it is close to where I live) and they don't serve it. It's time for me to take a cabbage soup tour of SoCal!

Maybe I need to venture out to the valley, but I really like Fromins sweet-n-sour cabbage I have once a week. If you like your soup on the sweet side Izzy's Deli is good but its to sweet for my taste but it does have raisins in it which I kind of like.

I'm throwing down the gauntlet on this one. Brent's - Northridge!! NO CONTEST! My Dad even flies out from NY for his fix regularly. It is sweet but soooooooo good. All I can say is that those who have voted for another deli most likely have not tried Brent's. It's that good. (I haven't been to the new branch in Westwood)

truefoodie -- I totally agree with you: Brent's Northridge!
But do not try to duplicate the experience at the Westlake Village restaurant; it is not even close.

looks like we're all over the board on this one. i think brent's and junior's are by far the best. jumior's being less sweet. i find canter's and nate's to be very bland.

When you're in Northwest OC, stop in at Katella Deli (Katella Ave. in Los Alamitos) and try theirs. Personally, I prefer their sweet n' sour cabbage roll dinner - very filling and very good.

I love the cabbage soup there. I always ask for onion rolls to go with them.

Brent's, that is if you like it sweet.

To my taste, the two Brents are very different. I love the sweet and sour cabbage soup at Brent's Northridge. The Westlake Village version is not nearly as good.

I actually like the Canter's version; it reminds me of my grandma's.

Factor's on Pico is very good.

Roll 'N Rye in Culver City is outstanding.

I like Arts deli in studio city. Just the right balance of sweet and sour.
