Does anyone know of a good ShangHai noodle place in North Jersey around Bergen County (or in NYC)?

I think I am going to try Joe Shanghaire... Now is the Chinatown better then the one uptown? or are the all good?

i would strongly advise shanghai cafe over joe's shanghai. it's less crowded b/c less people know about it (joe's shanghai is like the place that everyone in the tristate area knows about, but you'll barely see any nonchinese people at shanghai cafe). the food is also markedly better. i think they pretty much have the same stuff on the menu with shanghai cafe being a bit simpler (and cheaper). the atmosphere is nothing special at either (including the midtown location) so that shouldn't come into the equation. i lived in shanghai for several years, shanghai café is much closer to the real thing.

If you're schelpping all the way to Chinatown, go to Shanghai Café. their specialty is shanghai style noodles. and the XLB is significantly better and fresher than anywhere else in chinatown.

I'm not sure about a noodle shop. I highly reccomend Shanghai Cuisine in chinatown for shanghainese food. great XLB. Joe's Shanghai is also famous down there.
