Winterlicious 2008

Tboy Jan 7, 2008 08:51 AM

Anybody thinking about Winterlicious this year? I know its a sore point with some people on here, but I always enjoy the event!

My pick so far looks to be C5. I haven't had a chance to go yet, so this is a good opportunity to check out the new venue. My other picks include Vertical, Globe Bistro, and also Brassaii looks interesting (although it seems to have mixed reviews on here?!).

I think they are too pricy. I don't normally eat appetizer or dessert when I go to a restaurant. So the price i pay, I am only judging what i get for the main, and because of that, I think it's too pricy.

Yes, Auberge and Canoe are probably the two "HotSpots" for this year. If you call and get through, they're probably sold out, but will most likely "release" more reservations over the next week or so. Call and ask when the new releases are going to be and then call back, you're almost guaranteed a prime reservation, and in some cases a better reservation than those that called for the AMEX front of the line!

beerbistro, bodega, rosedale diner look like hits to me (haven't tried any before)

would always go back to quince and corner house, given my great past experiences there.

Can anybody get through to C5?????? I just get a "This mailbox is full" messege. Grrrrr!

My friend snagged a table for 4 for a Saturday lunch w/ the amex, luckily I am included in said party.

The list is growing semi-annually in volume, albeit good restaurants in correlation are dwindling.

oops forgot to mention, I got c5.

I really don't think it's worth the hassle to bother w/ canoe and auberge. Save a little and go for a regular meal.

wow, those are all your picks?

I've read it's hard to get reservation for canoe and auberge. But if i call tomorrow using AMEX, do you think i will be able to get a weekend lunch reservation for some of the other ones such as Studio Cafe, Victoria's?

Well that's the idea, but after booking starts we'll see which reservations I actually land. Keeping my fingers crossed.
