Indian buffets in the GTA

I ate at Chef of India yesterday at 30 Eglinton East and it was disappointing, mainly because they skimped on the food. The saag paneer was very low on paneer and I told them that, but the saag itself was good. The korma was so so but looked like a frozen vegetable dish and the curries in general were bland and too similar and lacked heat. I will not return. The decor could also use some sprucing up because the space is nice.

The wife and I really enjoy going to Siddhartha (the one we frequent is at King W & Bathurst). I know there are others in the city and I am not quite sure if this particular restaurant is part of a chain or not. We usually go for the buffet there and haven't been disappointed.

I've always had good luck there. I go during the week and maybe that has something to do with it.
I have also heard that if you don't do the lunch buffet, don't bother. The dinner is mostly leftovers from lunch.

The King St Siddartha is a part of the 3 Siddarthas chain. One of the Gerrard locations is veg only. We've only been to the King St one and the a la carte menu is outstanding though the dinner buffet has generally been very good. The last time we had dinner buffet there (maybe a month ago?) they had different items than usual (for example a chicken meatball in sauce dish). Everything was hot and fresh that time. I've only had one experience where the dinner buffet seemed stale.
