winterlicious amex early booking

i;m considering booking early reservations for winterlicious using my amex card... but i wanted to know if you can you use another credit card when paying?

or do you need to pay with the amex card you booked the reservation with?

Being able to get the reservation ahead of others is a benefit that you get from being an amex cardholder. There is no requirement to pay with the card.

Good Luck....reservations are difficult to make Amex or not....best spots lines are always busy...I'm going to pass this year...never did have an amazing Winterlicious/Summerlicious meal....Miranda

I seem to recall from the last 'licious that if you use the Amex to book early res you are required to pay for it with the Amex. They are the primo sponsor; this is how they get their dues. You want early, use the Amex. You wanna use another credit card, wait at the phone. (It's not fair to put the resto in between you and Amex, either...)

I disagree. I don't believe it's required nor do I think it is more appropriate to pay the bill with AMEX rather than cash or any other card.

I plan on making a reservation with my amex then paying with another card as my amex is a corporate card.

I suspect by the time you go to the restaurant they will not recall/have no record of when and how you made the reservation. Also, like someone else mentioned they will want to be paid and if I conveniently don't have that card with me, I doubt they will refuse other forms of payment.

You need to use Amex to hold your advance booking. When it comes to paying, you can use whatever you like.

Agreed. I've had friends book with their Amex for a large group and we all pay separately with our own cards,whatever they are, at the restaurant.
Although my experiences with Summerlicious and Winterlicious in previous years have not inspired me to book anything this year.

Correct. I booked with Amex and payed with cash, Amex or Visa.

also, do you need to make the reservation on the front of the line website or do you only need to call the restaurant to make the booking with your amex card ready ?

I'm sure that the restaurant in question will want to be paid, and will see no problem in using whatever card you are carring at the time. Where will you go?
