great lunch on a Saturday

A friend is returning from the west coast in a week or two, staying in Davis Square. I'd like to take her to a nice lunch in the Somerville - Cambridge area, willing to consider Boston for the right place. No Mexican or tapas -- she has good options out there for both.

So far, all I've come up with is Upstairs on the Square (she went there last time, so I'm inclined to find somewhere else). I'm not averse to more affordable/ethnic options like Qingdao, just want to cast a wide net.
Already checked some obvious choices -- no lunch served (Oleana, Craigie Street, Chez Henri).
many thanks!

Somerville's brand new Highland Kitchen serves lunch on Saturdays. Reviews so far have been pretty favorable:

Baraka Cafe serves lunch most days.

Also, Garden at the Cellar serves lunch from Tuesday-Saturday.
Koreana gets mixed reviews on this board, but is a nice space and the food is decent.

Also, check out this recent post. Not too far out of Cambridge.

there are also many brasilian + portugese places to eat here..maybe that is an option she doesn't have so much of? one idea a little further down in cambridge..

and then there is The Helmund, if you don't have a car, you can take the bus, or green line right down to Lechmere stop:

Macchu Picchu is not nearly as good (last I went about 6 months ago) as it was before it moved and expanded. Both my ceviche and my DC's lomo were pretty blah. It was a nice place to watch a soccer game, though.

i should re-fresh, perhaps. i saw the expansion as a good sign-- but haven't been there in a long time --longer than your 6 mos. maybe that was a bad rec. was trying to give her a varied list.

Didn't O Cantinho Cafe close? Or am I getting confused?

A while back, I had lunch at Casablance with a friend who was visiting; we all enjoyed our meal, and we were able to converse and linger. They serve lunch from 11:30-2:30.

I don't think the Helmand is open for lunch. Garden at the Cellar is a good idea. For more upscale, Sandrines or Upstairs on the Square would be nice. Also, Sagra in Davis Sq. is open for lunch.
