Painful peppers: Restaurants serving red savina dishes?
Did anyone see what this restaurant in Chicago is doing? -- serving wings coated in sauce with red savina: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22503454/...
This made me really curious. I know it looks kind of scary, but the thrill seeker in me thinks it'd be an interesting one-time experience.
Are there any restaurants that serve dishes with this super hot pepper? I searched the Web but didn't have any luck.
I've made pasta from hell (the recipe's in Chris Schlesinger's cookbook "The Thrill of the Grill") and it's actually pretty tasty when not overdone. It's basically a fruit-based sauce containing banana, orange, pineapple, lime, etc, with fresh chopped habañeros. If I remember correctly, the recipe says you can add "one to ten" peppers, to taste. I used four, which was plenty! My guess is for Hell Nights they use ten.
