Are there good restaurants for small wedding & reception?

Hello Hounders,
I'm wondering if there are restaurants in the East Bay, SF or Marin where someone can both get married and have a tasty reception for 40-50 guests. Ideally, I would love to be able to serve cocktails to all the guests before the ceremony and have a very brief ceremony in a small attached garden or courtyard. Once the ceremony is done, simply turn around and enter a dining area where we can sit down and have an excellent meal among friends and family.

I would love to find such a place and hear people's suggestions. Thanks (and my fiance's stomach thanks you too)

If you can travel a bit I highly recommend Erna's Elderberry House near Yosemite. My friend got married there in the pretty courtyard with gardens and the food was the best I've ever had at a wedding.

El Paseo in Mill Valley. Delicious food, excellent service and a charming locale. In a courtyard in a charming village...what more could you ask for... Plus, there is a separate building with a wine bar.
We've enjoyed many occasions at this spot.

          Hi deelishus,

I have exactly the same type of wedding in mind for my fiance and I. Did you ever find someplace? Thank you!

You might want to try Delancey Street -- I have a friend whose sister got married there, and I think it was exactly the kind of event described.

I'm having my wedding for 60 people this summer at Zazil, in San Francisco. They've been great to work with.

I know Sociale does small weddings but I don't know what their capacity is. Really cute, romantic place.

What about the Mountain Home Inn on Mt. Tam? I haven't eaten there so I can't vouch for the food, but the facility is nice, views unbelievable.

Fulfills several qualifications although not a restaurant per se.

Plumpjack can do up to 32 sit-down and 75 standing. I've attended a few events here, but none since the chef change. Here's the .pdf for private dining, http://www.plumpjackcafe.com/plumpjac...
                      For larger scale, One Market.

Sometime between May and September of this year, preferably a Saturday night.
