Orlando for a day...

  • 2

Traveling to Kissimmee and staying at the Gaylord Palms for a few days of work - I have one Saturday until about 4 pm to sample a few great items - looking for something within a cab ride. I would love to go to the Ravenous Pig - I read about the saturday roast, is that still going on? And is this within a cab ride....

Apart from that any suggestions on BBQ close to the Palms? I am partial to Carolina style.

I will also be spending an afternoon at Epcot - best places to eat in the park Iif any...)

Thanks for the help, I'm from the Pac NW and there is no BBQ here....

Sincerely,
Dave

  1. If you are going to Epcot, you should visit the new Italian place called Tutto Italia. The food is great and the wine list is small but great. If you like Dolcetto try the 2006 Pelissero Dolcetto. It goes with most of the food there.
    Have a great time.

    1. You won't be anywhere near the Ravenous Pig. It's probably a 45-minute cab ride away. You'll be near nothing, pretty much, except Disney and Kissimmee, which has a lot of ethnic restaurants but none that I know to recommend. Many, many Cuban places. I expect there would be decent barbecue in Kissimmee, but I haven't heard of any. As for Epcot, it's hit or miss all the time. France, Japan (with two new restaurants) and Canada are generally good, China generally bad. Norway's food is good but you have to contend with princess character meals. Morocco's food is so-so in the table-service restaurant; I never tried the counter-service place. The British pub has surprisingly good grub.
