MSP-La Mixteca, Bloomington

I just notiiced this place didn't have it's own thread. I had a steak taco on my way to Kabobs. It was excellent. Any suggestions fot other dishes? I noticed they had Menudo soup on their breakfast menu...has anyone tried it and know if they serve it all day?

Big fan of there soups. The menudo was excellent as was the Seafood soup. The ceviche tostada is another must try. The owner even came out with a piece of grilled chicken to try. This place definitely will get my business.

You might find it under Tacos Morelos, its former name. I believe they have menudo all day, but as I can't eat beef or pork I couldn't say for sure.

Chicken tamales are good. Seafood soups are good. I love the place, and it's one of my lunch regulars.

K I know I started this in another thread, but I seriously love everything I have tried here.. exception: the pulled pork (but it tasted like smoked pulled pork, just isn't my style) =) The other meats are oh so tasty, why have just plain pork?!

Ceviche is really nice here.. and all the extra sauces you can put on it alone are worth the 2.50 you get charged just for the fish.. seriously. =)

The green avocado salsa is the best one. They now have some spicy pickled onions (that are marinating with habeneros) on the salsa list, too. Get them if you dare! It's a good challenge food. (nice and sour and first, but 10 seconds after you're done, you'll feel it!)

So it has the same menu that Taco Morales did?

If you mean Taco Morelos that was in the same location (not the restaurant that is not Morelos Mex Grill), then yes, same menu plus MORE stuff! They have the same salsas, plus more new condiments.

Taco Morelos didn't have guraches, tortas, gorditas, or 3-4 of the new kinds of meat (chicken pibil +++), nor did they have the pickeled veggies (seriously try those crazy onions). I loved the place, but it's even better now. Same price point, more stuff.. can't go wrong. =)

taco morelos (where mixteca is now) did have tortas and gorditas, but not as many of the meat or menudo options. also, tm didn't have any baked goods.

luckily, mixteca is still as good as or better than tm was when it was there. their tortas are tasty!
