Recently moved to Michigan, and am looking for a foodie 3 day weekend in Toronto with mix of foods. One night we want a Per Se quality dinner. Read various reviews, but thinking about Colborne Lane vs Rain, vs Susur. The rest of the time just good food and does not have to be fancy, could be sushi, vietnamese, thai, burgers, fish and chips really just want a memorable food experience. Thanks for any input.

  1. Per Se is going to be tough, so, without comparing, I'll recommend the tasting menus at Splendido, Perigee, and George.

Perhaps try JKWB, Kultura, or Colbourne Lane on another night.

I personally can't think of any memorable sushi, Thai, Vietnamese, or burgers that are located downtown, but I'm sure fellow hounders will chime in soon enough.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Birthday!

Just to add that I would put my first three recommendations ahead of CL, Rain, and Susur.

Thanks for the info, lots of mixed reviews for Rain, CL my wife nixed because we already ate at wd50 and I ate at moto and commerce24. What is your top choice? We are open for a drive for good food.

Based on my own experiences, my top choice would be George. It's a wonderful space, not pretentious, and my servers have always been extremely courteous. Each restaurant has an online menu, and could you help in making a solid choice. Of the three, Perigee is probably the restaurant offering you the most risk, which is why it is not recommended as much as it should be. Splendido is top notch, usually the most "Canadian" influenced of the three, and gets the most praise here. Really, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Please post some reviews when you get back to Michigan.

    2. Not sushi but for a great Japanese tasting menu, try Kaiseki-Sakura on Church near Wellesley -

      1. Oh, and for Thai, there's lots of love on this board for Mengrai, right downtown in the St. Lawrence market area -
