guelaguetza on olympic

i know many chowhounds are enamored with this small chain of restaurants. i had heard very high praises of the food but quite a few negatives about the decor/atmosphere. well, i went to the newest one of the three, and was surprised to see a large, clean, uncrowded place (i was there for a late lunch on a weekday). although they spoke very little english, the service was friendly enough. and the food...definitely authentic. i felt like i was down in mexico. i tried the memelo with chorizo - greasy, yes, but very good. oddly, the restaurant is in koreatown on olympic and in an old asian restaurant. quite a contrast between the exterior of the building and the interior (asian architecture from the outside; mexican decor on the interior).
