Springfield, NJ area restaurant suggestions

I'm looking for a nice mid-range restaurant or upscale bar or wine bar to go to in the Springfield, NJ area. Would also be open to neighboring towns.

I really like Khun Thai in Short Hills. Above average Thai in a trendy looking setting, at great prices.

One of my better friends in the know, who works in one of the top restaurants in New Jersey goes to Shanghai Jazz in Summit, approximately 5 miles from Springfield proper. Admittedly, I have never been there, but he loves it and he goes for dinner on Fridays and then into the bar for entertainment afterwards.

Last time I looked, Shanghai Jazz was in Madison. . . .and it still is. That's about 20 minutes, with traffic. Great place.

In Springfield, there isn' t much. You can head over to Millburn, where Martini's is, on Main Street, corner of Millburn Avenue. Nice menu. Good Martinis. 5 minutes.

I stand corrected and you are right......it's a good thing I never accepted his invitations.....otherwise I would still be driving around the block.
