Ciao Baby Manchester, NH -take 2.

What can I say other than WOW. We decided to dine last night at 6, our usual weekly dinner out on the town and we decided on Ciao Baby on Elm St Manchester again this week. We listened to the specials and decided in the "Giant Meatball" appetizer, and the Chianti wine.

The waitress shocked us as she arrived with a chilled wine bucket and a bottle of sparkling wine... on the house! It was in celebration for the new year, a very nice touch which we enjoyed fully.

The meatball arrived and it was huge and delicious, served on fresh spring greens.

I decided on the swordfish special, and hubby on the steak (menu item) ... Both of us were very pleased. The steak was perfectly medium, served with greens and very tasty mashed potato... I know I stole two bites.

My swordfish was grilled to perfection, with fingerling potatoes and perfect still crisp asparagus with none of the "stringiness" that I have found in many places.

Then, came dessert.......

Have you ever wanted to lick your dessert cup? Well I did.... I wanted to savor every decadent morsel of my creme brulee and my husband's flourless chocolate cake did not escape my fork either, as I found it was just as sinful as my choice.

With the check came chocolates, a nice touch as well. Ciao Baby on Elm is showing its ability to impress me yet again. and as many in here know, I do not often give praise, I usually only frump when I am disappointed. But I must give this establishment its kudos once again.

Yes they are closed for good. Lots of issues with former owners, and expectations on how to run a success rest.

Hoping that the Chef John ends up somewhere local as he really is a food Master!

I just heard they are closed for good this time. Has anyone heard this?? I was just there a few weeks ago. The food was great - it was ashame they had very little customers. I think closing the first time really hurt their chances the 2nd time around.

The biggest problem is that Ciao Baby is extremely inconsistent-

I have not had a problem yet, but I have only been there twice. I am hopeful to make it a regular place. The little girl who is there daily is such a delight.
