Anyone know when it opens? Sometime this month, I know, but I need to be able to order some delivery food that isn't deep fried...

I didn't realize they were opening a Chop't in DC. I know they opened one up in Gallery Place/Chinatown. That would be great if there was one in my neighborhood. And they are delivering?

    Where exactly is it going?

...i've heard it can get REALLY expensive. Like a $15 salad...

It can go that high IF you don't watch your toppings. The basic salad is around $7, start adding meats and cheeses and you will quickly hit $10-15.

right - While I really wish there were more healthy lunch options for us stuck in the metro center area, a salad is not worth $15 unless you got lobster and truffles in it.

I haven't been to sweet green yet, but I hope the expand to around these parts since they're both local and seem to be more reasonably priced.

That was my impression too. I walked into the Chinatown store, saw the prices, walked out. I went to Pot Belly, next door, for the first time. $4.15 sandwich. Tasty but too carby. Guess you have to pay a big premium to eat healthy these days, unless you pack your own salads.

The salads at Potbelly are very good. You get a lot of fresh stuff in it, can add meats if you want, and the dressing comes on the side automatically.

            I recommend them - they're very good.

To reply to my own post, the guy from Chop't wrote me back and said they are aiming to be open in Dupont in the first week of February.
