Reputable source for kefir grains

Does anyone know of a reputable local source for kefir grains? I know there's a community mystique and some traditions surrounding the entire thing, but all I want is to eat it (really hoping I don't offend anyone). Thanks!

To my surprise, I found out a lot of people selling the grain on Ebay.

If you contact your local Weston A. Price Foundation they always know who has kefir grains available. A new chapter just started in Silver Spring, Maryland.

This post is kinda old, but wondering if you ever found kefir grains in the area. I'm in Ellicott City, and I've tried contacting a few people in the area listed on the kefir site, but I've had no response so far. I've had a sourdough starter for years so I think I can handle this one and I love Kefir.

I am in NY so not terribly local I suppose, but I have some extra kefir grains that I want to share. I'd be happy to mail them to you. They'll multiply once you start making kefir, so you can become the DC-area source.
