Any place in the city to grab authentic Belgian waffles? Not the bland street fair kind, but the yeasty, sweet-crusted kind like I had while skiing Okemo this weekend.

I had Belgian waffles at Le Petit Abeille (17th st.) and they were quite good. Light and not at all doughy.

I know you're not looking for the street fair kind, but have you seen the Wafels & Dinges truck? I think it's usually around Union Square. They have very good waffles.

I heartily concur about Wafels and Dinges. SOOOOO good. I highly recommend ordering a WMD. Wafel of Mass Delciousness loaded with Belgium Chocolate Strawberries and Whipped Cream. Or you could just go with a plain Brussels Wafel or a Cinnamon Liege Wafel. Seriously...I dream of these wafels.
