Does anyone remember a russian restaurant that sold "piroshky" (I think) to go? They were made with a yeast dough (which had a golden cast) and a meat filling and were about 6-7" long. Wonderful...but the restaurant closed (we're talking 20 years ago at least) and I have no idea where something like this could be found today.

Continental Deli @ 7712 Santa Monica Blvd. prepares quite good piroski with different fillings. Drive Beverly Blvd. west of Fairfax to find other grocer/delis catering to russian emigres for piroshki and other typical food.

Piroshki pretty good at Tsarina in Valley. In mall at NE corner of Van Nuys Blvd and Ventura Blvd. (may be called tsaritsa but I think not).
