Can anyone give a list of all the Top Chef alum restaurants in manhattan? I want to go on a little marathon of sorts!

    Perilla is Harold's. I think I've seen a post about Dave having a place, but don't remember the name - a search might garner it for you. And of course Casa Mono is where Ilan used to work - and where he got his "winning" fideos dish.

      Crave is Dave's place - 42nd/11th.

        Looks like Crave recently closed its doors.

      i dont watch the show but i dont think anyone from little owl is from there...joey campanero is the chef...a harrison/pace alum...

      as for perilla, i finally had dinner there a week ago after being very impressed by their lunch.

      my duck entree was absolutely delicious. the spicy duck meatballs were ok but nothing amazing.

      i really enjoyed my dinner...great room, excellent and friendly service...

        Little Owl is not headed by a Top Chef alum. The alums have been/are at:

        Miguel Morales - sous-chef at Mandarin Oriental
        Lee Anne Wong - French Culinary Institute
        Suyai Steinhauer - Fork Meal Delivery Services
        Josie Smith-Malave - formerly of Marlow and Sons now owns a couple spaces in Queens
        Sam Talbot - formerly of Black Duck, Punch, now consulting
        Ilan Hall - formerly of Casa Mono, now wasting space
        Camille Becerra - Paloma (in Bklyn, I believe)
        Lia Bardeen - Jean-Georges
        Joey Paulino - Café des Artistes
        Sara Nguyen - Sous-chef at Boucarou
        Harold Dieterle - Perilla
        Dave Martin - Crave on 42nd

          Wasn't Cliff linked to NYC somehow or am I misremembering? You know, the guy thrown off for roughhousing Marcel.

            Yes, Cliff was associated with Salute on Madison and 37th.

              i never watched the show but went to crave on 42nd last night and had a really good experience. lots of decent wines by the glass, magic hat on tap, the famous mac n cheese held up, the meat pizza was perfect. next time i'd skip the white bean dip, but that's about it. dave was on hand smiling and meeting with the customers.

              I remember seeing Cliff as someone's sous chef on Iron Chef in a repeat recently too...

              Let's not forget Lisa Fernandes - finalist in the last series who works at Mai House in Tribeca (Franklin St).

                Isn't Spike also at Mai House (or was?) I know Andrew is at Le Cirque.

                  I believe Dale from the latest season is still working at Buddakhan - I saw him standing outside there today....

                    sam is at surf lodge in montauk, a new 'super-cool', but also fun place on the pond. i wanted to like it more than i did. i was underwhelmed by the food, but my husband like the popcorn ceviche and a calamari dish that, to me, tasted like chili. the corn salad was excellent, but difficult to mess up in the summer with totally fresh ingredients.

                      Just read that Ilan Hall may be coming back to NY to work as EC at a Spanish restaurant in the meatpacking district. I found it funny that the article said:

                      "But if things get off the ground, the place will presumably feature food in the vein of Hall’s previous employ at Casa Mono"

                          I've been to Perilla, Crave and 24 Prince- they were all really good (i think i was more excited to see and meet the Top Chef's!) Perilla was fantastic, Crave was wholesome and delicious- that Mac and Cheese was AMAZING! so upset that they are closing. 24 Prince was good- Nikki was sweet.

                          Anyone have more info on Solo? I thought that he was a "guest chef" there for a while??

                              Went to Perilla a year ago (I live in New Orleans) and just loved everything. The duck meatballs were great, but so was everything else. Great space and location, excellent service. I will be back next time I'm in NYC!
