Can anyone recommend a brunch spot on the East side in the 20's/30's? I go to Penelope's every weekend, and although I love it - I can't stand the wait.

the ess-a-bagel on 21st is excellent. the bagels are warm from the oven and they have an amazing array of spreads. it's not fancy though, and if you don't like bagels, then you might be out of luck...

oh, man ... since moving to the area last june, i've had an everything bagel with whitefish salad and a slice of tomato *nearly every weekend*. they really are amazing.

for other places in the area, i also like resto, the shake shack, and anything in korea-town, although the last two suggestions aren't traditional bunch spots.
