World Cafe in Santa Monica?

Saw this while walking down Main Street in Santa Monica last week. Anyone have an opinion? Is it a good place to meet friends for lunch? What are other good lunch places around there? TIA.

All I can say is beware!!
The ONLY reason to go is a sunny morning, and you feel you must sit outside on a (extremely busy and bustling)patio. The food always seems dry to me. And World was where I first discovered that catsup can go rancid. Yech!

You might try Lilly's instead - the patio is nice, and the salmon benedict on brioche with frites is the perfect Sunday decadence.

I've been there once on a late sunday morning, when everyone hits the street for brunch restaurants. If the weather is nice, do try to get a seat outside. I had the duck hash with poached egg, and my friend had the grilled salmon (I keep a journal of these things). The food was very decent. My only complaint being the dry and chewy wild rice with the salmon.

The way I remember it was that it crowded easily. Especially since everyone waits for patio seating. I don't know if they take reservations or not, but here's the number if they do (310)392-1661.

Thanks for the info. My friend and I will try it next time we get together. Menu sounds interesting.
