are puree etc seed free or have the seeds been ground up?

Puree is strained. I can't imagine that you really could grind up those seeds. I just cut in half and scoop them out. A grapefruit spoon works well for this.

      2. if you are talking about fresh, it's easy to remove the seeds. I'm not a big fan of tomato seeds so for plum type tomatoes I cut the top and bottom tip off and then with a sharp knife cut into the flesh and roll the flesh right off the seed pod. With more rounded tomatoes I would cut the top off and scoop out the seed pod with a spoon.
