  1. You can find a recipe for a New Orleans style Italian Salad here:

The recipe linked describes it pretty well. Basically a few types of lettuce, tomato, olive mix, garlic, pepperoni, shrimp.

Since my last post was deleted about no one calling it a WOP salad anymore, it was called that referring to Italians, that pretty much went away as some felt it offended the Italians, so no one calls it that anymore.

The website linked was blocked for me. That's why I asked what it was. I meant to say that in my last comment, but... you know...

I haven't seen anything called WOP Salad on any cajun menus here in the city. Not that I got to cajun places all that often, but I think I'd remember seeing that name if I had.

I don't recall seeing the WOP salad in cajun places. We always got them from a small place when we had stuffed artichokes or muffs.

              Hiya, Folks

Speyerer posted a recipe and it has been moved here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/645964

          2. Here's a little different one here: http://www.gumbopages.com/food/app/wo...

They call it: New Orleans-style Italian Salad (or, as it was once called locally, "Wop Salad")

Here is another thread about it: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/470774
