I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. And to all the wonderful things I have to say about it, I can add one very important one - it is near where I live - in the middle of nowhere!
I ate at Picasso last night (New Year's Eve). It was my second dining experience there in the past month or so. Both times, the meals were superb for all four people dining.
The first time I went there, my husband and our two friends all got the pork chops, which were offered in both a single serving or a double. All three went on and on about how perfect they were. Last night my husband confessed that while they were talking about all the wonderful things going on in their lives, all he was thinking was about how wonderful the pork chops were!
On that evening I got the special ravioli they offered. It had marscapone and sun dried tomatoes in it and grilled shrimp on top. It was super!
Last night, there was live jazz (in fact, there's live jazz every Thursday). It turned out to be the owner and the hostess who took turns singing, and they sounded totally professional. The owner is married to the chef. I don't know his name, but he is to be commended. He does walk around from time to time.
They offered 4 meals, which our waitress told us were the four most special meals offered during the year (their first year in business). I got the sea bass, as did my friend. We both agreed that it was the best fish we've ever eaten. My husband got the lobster, scallop and shrimp scampi and the shrimp, sweet potato bisque (he said it was the best soup he'd ever had, and the scampi was also superb. Our other friend had the New York Strip (I think that was the cut).
Our service was exceptionally friendly, by the way.
We all thouroughly enjoyed our meals and were so happy to have gone. I highly recommend Picasso, even if you have to drive a way to get there.
I've eaten there about 5-6 times now, and I've never had a disappointing meal. I love that place and I'm thankful that it isn't too far from home. There are no good restaurants out this way.
I get the opportunity to go out every other Saturday night. And the past two Saturdays I have dined at Picasso. And guess what? For the third time in a row on my every-other-Saturday-night schedule, I have opted for Picasso. This place is tremendous. From the bartender to the waitstaff to the ambience to the food. It has been flawless each and every time. The sauces are truly some of the best I have ever had anywhere. The quality of meat is second to none. The lamb dishes are the absolute best I have had anywhere. And the desserts....even if I am full I order one and end up finishing all of it. The specials are extremely innovative. And there is so much "going on" on every plate. Yes, I can say it has been flawless the past two times in a row and I am looking forward to yet another flawless evening tonight.
