LA cafeteria style restaurant with a stream?

Natalie Feb 26, 2001 01:45 PM

My husband was watching Huell Howser talk about a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, which apparently has been there forever. He said it was cafeteria style and family run, and it's made to look like a Redwood forest on the inside. A stream, trees, etc. Anyone know what this place is called?

You're talking about Clifton's Cafeteria. Downtown LA, probably on Broadway. Open 9-9 every day. Enjoy.

      Clifton's Brookdale Cafeteria
      648 S Broadway
      Downtown L.A.
      (213) 627-1673

There were two other Clifton's cafeterias in downtown with other themes, but they've since closed down. I believe I've heard that other Clifton's still exist outside downtown - someone else may have more information...

There used to be a Clifton's at the Lakewood mall, but it's closed also.
