Any comments on LINQ?
- Tom Provost
I have some family coming in town; my brother-in-law heard of Linq and wants to try it. Any opinions?
About a year ago I went to Linq with a girlfriend who was doing publicity for the restaurant. The decor is jaw-dropping gorgeous, and the food was very good for fusion cuisine, which I'm not a big fan of. Service was very good and so was the people watching. I think it's a great place to take out-of-towners because it has a sophisticated and glamorous L.A. feel. The concentration is more about presentation and the dining experience than about food. I'm with Trane. I had appetizers and wine early one Friday evening in their bar about 6 months ago w/ a friend - don't remember exactly what we had but I was pleasantly surprised by both food and bill. Plus, the space itself is gorgeous. After we'd settled our tab, the bartender allowed us to linger at our prime spot for 20 minutes even after the bar started filling up. No vibes or pointed stares, just kept refilling our water glasses. It was a nice courtesy I doubt we would have been shown at many other local "hot spots."
