Where are you dining/drinking tonight? Need ideas!

Hubby and I are blessed with a gratis babysitter tonight starting at 7 and have nebulous plans for the evening. Sushi sounds good, as does cocktails at a non-pretentious bar. We might do First Night, so we could always check out Cru or whatever, but I find myself bereft of ideas for a low-key New Year's Eve date that won't break the bank.

SO ... where are you fabulous hounds going?

We went to Vino Vino, where their chef - a young lad, couldn't have been older than 25 - had rustled up some of the best Osso Bucco I've ever had. Let's hope they put that on the menu from time to time!

Stayed home, and among other things, I drank some 16 year old Bushmill's Irish Whiskey, which is hands down the best Irish I've ever tasted. In fact, that's one of the best whiskies I've ever tasted. And at $55 a bottle, quite a bargain.

Going out=no thanks. Gussied up last night and had another spectacular meal at Lambert's with a little live jazz after upstairs.

Picked up the movie, snacks at Whole Foods, full wine rack and 3 bottles of Champagne in the fridge, cute man to share it with, can't think of anything better.

Just picked up a bottle of beaujolais,USDA prime ribeye,potatoes(for roasting)and some green beans. Maybe new lady friend coming by.
