        <content>Have a clay pot recipe for a Beef Brisket main course .  Want to reduce the size by 1/3 .

Concerning the amount of cooking time indicated in recipe, should I also reduce it by 1/3.  I am not quire sure of the cooking time modifications when using the clay pot cooking techniques and changing the amount.

      <content>I'd cook to a temperature, not a time...for slicing, I'd go to `85 -190 F.  Brisket isn't usually cooked rare or anything.   Good luck!

You mentioned you were reducing the size by 1/3, but did not give the original size.  Hopefully the following information will be of some help.

If you are using an un-glazed clay pot with lid such as Romertopf.  Four pounds of corned beef with cabbage and potatoes should cook at 400F for about 2 1/2 hours.
