Lunch and Dinner in West Hartford

I'm looking for suggestions for lunch and dinner in the West Hartford area. We've dined at Bricco, which we always enjoy. The Elbow Room used to be pretty good for lunch, but the last couple of times we were a little disappointed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Grants in WH is a top performer in my opinion. Competent and consistent. Related to Bricco as you probably know. Never been there for lunch, though. If you don't mind heading up over Avon mountain, I hear Metro Bis is good. It's too long a trek for me, but I'd love to hear about any opinions.

    1. Grant's on Farmington Avenue is great for lunch or dinner. Tapas on New Britain Avenue (near Westfarms Mall) has wonderful Mediterranean food with reasonable prices. They also have a smaller restaurant in downtown Hartford.

We've never been to Grant's. If it's as good as Bricco, it has to be worth a visit.

I second Tapas! We go to West Hartford to visit Trader Joe's and Whole Foods on a regular basis. We were so happy to discover Tapas that we go there every time now. Everything we have had has always been (like you were making it for yourself) fresh and great great.

        2. I really like Barcelona in the center...Spanish food, tapas and wine bar...lots of different areas to sit depending on your mood....good have to search a bit to find's off the parking lot behind Toy Chest

          1. Shish Kebob House on LaSalle Rd., Whole Foods if you want to grab a sandwich, salad bar, hot meal, pay at the register and eat at the tables there, Corner Pug for good pub style, Plan B for a great burger, Hot Basil for Thai

            1. East West Grille on New Park Ave, across from Home Depot. My absolute favorite!
