Lunch and Dinner in West Hartford
I'm looking for suggestions for lunch and dinner in the West Hartford area. We've dined at Bricco, which we always enjoy. The Elbow Room used to be pretty good for lunch, but the last couple of times we were a little disappointed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have to second Shish Kabob House on LaSalle in WH center. Wonderful afghani food. I am actually sad to have moved to providence because I do have cravings for their beef tenderloin kabobs, spinach rice, and eggplant side. The eggplant side is the tastiest eggplant I've ever had. It is broiled so that the skin is slightly crispy and chewy. Tomato sauce and yogurt makes the eggplant tangy. I am drooling just thinking of it!

Grant's on Farmington Avenue is great for lunch or dinner. Tapas on New Britain Avenue (near Westfarms Mall) has wonderful Mediterranean food with reasonable prices. They also have a smaller restaurant in downtown Hartford.

Grants in WH is a top performer in my opinion. Competent and consistent. Related to Bricco as you probably know. Never been there for lunch, though. If you don't mind heading up over Avon mountain, I hear Metro Bis is good. It's too long a trek for me, but I'd love to hear about any opinions.
