Another question on Hazan's Lasagne

I haven't made a version of lasgane with Beachmel sauce in years. I notice that she says to combine the ragu and sauce. Is that the reason I thought that I didn't have an enough sauce with the original recipe? I have never done it that way..always seperate layering . By the way I am using boxed dry Lasagne sadly not the fresh sheets. Any thoughts?
