Looking for an excellent, upscale quality Hofbrau.

San Francisco?

In seems to me that "upscale" and "Hofbrau" don't go together. In any event, Tommy's Joynt is just about the last only true Hofbrau in SF at the moment.

Perhaps this will help although I agree with Xiao Yang that upscale hofbrau is an oxymoron.

If that is what you desire, then avoid Harry's Hof Brau. If JetBlue had a hof brau in coach, they would serve better, fresher fare than Harry's.

You might try Jupiter's, which is really updated Hofbrau. Carved meats, gravy, mashies, hot sandwiches and full plates but lots of salads and apparently healthier choices.

Reminds me of Pluto's. Any relation? They have a location on University in Palo Alto.

Yes, Pluto's...my bad. There is a Jupiter's in Berkeley, unrelated.
