Good Corned Beef Hash in Austin?

latikeriii Dec 29, 2007 10:01 AM

I'm originally from Chicago so i've had some good corned beef hash from the small corner neighborhood joints however, I can't seem to find any place here in Austin with good corned beef hash. Of course the national chains(orig pancake house,Village Inn,etc) all have it however, its a processed type that isn't the kind i'm used to. It doesn't seem to sell a lot in a land dominated by breakfast tacos and migas. Katz's used to have pretty good corned beef hash but the last 2 times were terrible.

any suggestions?

The stuff at the Original Pancake House that I had seemed fresh, rather than canned. What do you mean by "processed"?

(Apologies if this post got messed up!)

In Round Rock the 620 cafe has the best corn beef hash I have ever had and there eggs are always hot, love that, find it rare most places!

I hate to disagree, but I do disagree. I went to the 620 Cafe and their corned beef hash is canned and therefore awful. Still looking for the good stuff in Austin.

What I mean is if the corned beef hash is basically refined into a combination of pototoes and very small pieces of corned beef, not the chucks of corned beef that is popular in the east coast. I didn't say that the stuff at the Original Pancake house was bad, just not what i'm used to.

i'm going to check out the 620 cafe ASAP.
