i'm going there for oyster loaf. do they have any desserts? are they good? and what are good sides to get? Also, is this place casual/self-service or a sit-down restaurant. Also anyone know the price range for a po boy? thanks

  1. Where is this place located?? Do they make a good Oyster Po-Boy? What else do they serve? Dreamin' of Jazz Fest...

A pretty good oyster po' boy, down on 54th Street. I wouldn't recommend anything else, particularly. Except maybe for beer.

Nobody comes close to Johnny's in the French Quarter. But we can hope. Gonna be at Mardi Gras in just under a month, then I'll have my fill of po' boys!!

In L.A., the Gumbo Pot at the Farmer's Market at Fairfax and Third is the best cajun I've had in the area, including their po-boys. They have an amazing cat-fish po-boy, as well as oyster. Order at the counter, outdoor seating. Really good raw oysters this time of year, 99 cents a piece. Almost as good as the Gulf Coast food I ate growing up, but not quite.
