Lone Diner in Paris

I'm headed to Paris next week for 6 days. I'm going for business but I am taking a few days beforehand for myself. I'll be there alone so I'd like some suggestions for places where I won't feel out of place dining alone. This is my first time to Paris so I'd like to have some great French food (at a decent price). Thanks for your suggestions!

  1. Check out this thread from about a year ago with a number of suggestions for a solo diner.

    1. I don't think there is any restaurant in Paris where you would be out of place. I remember many years ago going to a very high-end restaurant for lunch by myself, and wondering if this was a good idea. I was given a table large enough for 4, and was treated wonderfully by the staff. I felt like a king.

      1. If your experience is anything like mine have been, you will not feel alone, and you will never be seated near the kitchen door!

There's an entirely different attitude toward solo diners in France than here in US.

        1. I almost always go to paris alone. Paris has the most people living alone in the world so you never feel alone or conspicuous. As a matter of fact, Paris restos often treat the single diner a little better, under the theory that only real food lovers dine alone. Bon Appetit.

          1. My husband once got ill while we were in Paris, and I went to Rotisserie D'En Face on my own. I was treated very well and didn't feel out of place at all.
