I'm looking to give a birthday gift of a wine tasting/class. I don't live in DC and am having trouble sifting through all the related websites. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to look? Thank you.

Macarthur liquors has regular wine tastings....not sure that's what you're looking for, but they do have them.

I would check out tastedc.com (I think - if not google Taste DC). They have many many classes on a variety of wine, food, tastings etc. Not sure if they do gift certificates. I've been to a few and they are always good events.

I had a great experience with the ABC's of wine class offered by Washington Wine Academy. It was a series, but you could also take one of the classes on its own. The "lessons" were given by one of the Washington Post wine critics, so the content quality was good.
