Malasadas in L.A.?

Pepper (or anyone else): In reference to a previous post of yours on the SF board, is there anywhere in L.A. one can obtain a good malasada (portuguese donut)? Unfortunately, Tex Drive-In is outside my current willing-to-travel capabilities. :)

Also, can anyone recommend other donut-like confections to try from other non-American cuisines, and where the best examples of them might be found in L.A.? Thanks.

King's Hawaiian Restaurant (makers of that Hawaiian bread you see in grocery stores) in Torrance has a bakery that does up a decent Malasada.

It's on Sepulveda between Hawthorne and Crenshaw.
