Does anyone have any suggestions for a Sunday birthday lunch around Bergen County. From Glen Rock, I would travel up to 40 minutes. My guests don't like Asian food. Something like Chez Catherine, which is not open on Sunday. Thanks.

  1. I have not been here in the last few years, but consider Madeline's Petit Paris in Northvale. It's run by the husband and wife team, The Caloz's. The only excellent New Year's Eve dinner I ever had was at their establishment. You will hear a few naysayers, but I would disagree. Gaspard won the Cooking Olympics.........not many have that on their resume'.

I do know they offer a Sunday Brunch, but if you make arrangements, you may be able to have your own menu prepared for the occasion.

    1. Might consider Harvest Bistro in Cloister Nj, about 25 minutes from glen rock . We were there only once for dinner and really liked it about one year ago. They serve "brunch" on sundays but if you look at the menu (harvestbistro.com) there are many (about half) "lunch/dinner" selections to choose from, even on the pri fixe portion of menu entrees (pri fixe is 25$ if you go that route). The place is very pretty inside as well although if memory serves the tables can be very close along the wall in the back.
