The Bobby Orr at the Fours

We went to The Fours in Quincy last night. I had heard a lot about the Bobby Orr (basically a steak tip sub with cheese), so that's what I went for, along with steak fries and a Guinness. The Bobby Orr was very good, with tiny, tender steak tips and cheese packed into a sub roll. But it really wasn't the earth-shattering, transcendent type of sandwich that some people I've been talking to had been telling me it was. Perhaps the Bobby Orr at the Boston location is better?

I have to say, The Fours on Canal Street is a good place to go for simple bar apps and drinks. I love their potato skins and whenever I've gone service has been great and the prices are reasonable. They also will get you in and out in time for the game if you are going to it, or, on the other hand, if you'd prefer to stay there and watch, they won't rush you out the door.

The Bobby Orr is a tasty sandwich, but it is what it is. In my opinion its kind of tough to turn a steak tip and cheese sub into an earth-shattering experience. That being said, its good stuff and if I am in the area for a Celtics game it is my meal of choice, although you have to get in there 2-3 hours before gametime if you want to guarantee a table and get to the game on time.

Well, how could a person going to a _Celtics_ game appreciate a Bobby Orr, anyway? ;)

Its only because the NHL isn't around anymore...

OTOH, maybe in 1970 or so, the Bobby Orr was a more spectacular sandwich, compared to how it seems now....

The Canal Street version is merely good, hardly great, but decent options are so scant nearby that it probably seems better than it is. I'd also venture that memories of the experience are often skewed by a couple of pitchers of lager.

I've had the Bobby Orr near the Garden and it's just as you say - good, but not earth-shattering.
