Having a party on NYE and would like to buy some oysters for about 10-20 people, need to know where to get them at a reasonable price somewhere in Midtown or Hells Kitchen , hopefully it will be a little cheaper.

Will travel for quality and price.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

There's a fish monger on 1st Avenue and maybe 51st Street - right next to Ideal Cheese - I don't remember the name but maybe you could swing by and check them out. I seem to recall their having oysters. I usually buy mine at Citarella, but that's not too convenient for you. There's also a fish market in Grand Central - Wild Edibles, I think, though they are pricey.

I also think that Lobster Place will be better in terms of price. They don't have as many as variety as Wild Edibles though.

Another plus for Lobster Place is that they have champagne mignonette readily available, so you can pick up a few to accompany your oysters.
