Just want to rave about the red velvet cake I recently bought from Justin of BakeshopDC (, it was AMAZING!!! Moist, excellent cream cheese frosting, everyone, and I mean everyone, at the party thought it was wonderful.

Give Justin a shout. He doesn't have a store front but will work with you on getting your order delivered. You will not be disappointed!

  1. I totally agree that BakeshopDC is amazing. I order cupcakes there for all my parties and people literally fight over them. By far the best tasting cake in the DC area, the red velvet is delicious. Justin, the baker/owner is going to open a bakery,, I really hope he does it in Arlington.

    1. What are the price points since the web site does not give pricing?

Justin charged $30 for a red velvet cake that fed more than 14 people. Deal of the century!

      2. Do you have any other contact info? I clicked the link you provided but it said page not found. Thanks!

There are extraneous characters at the end of the address, just type in

        2. I had a BakeshopDC cupcake at Murky Coffee in Arlington. Amazingly moist chocolate cupcake. The Murky person said Its kind of luck of the draw what flavor cupcakes they have at any given time. The chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting is the best cupcake I've ever eaten.

          1. I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for my office. They were fantastic. Half were red velvet and rest were assorted, including white with strawberry frosting and yellow with vanilla frosting. The frosting was very smooth and creamy. I normally don't even like frosting and I devoured 2 of these cupcakes. Just fabulous.

Justin, the owner, personally delivered them. He is super easy to deal with and accepts PayPal for payments. Highly recommended!! Justin said that a storefront is in the works. He plans to open in Clarendon in the fall. Can't wait.

I REALLY want to give him some business - when my boyfriend was coming back from Iraq, I was going to order cupcakes from him as a welcome home surprise. Then I learned that his flight would be in around midnight, etc, and it all just became a huge pain in the tush to plan anything special.

But Justin was really helpful and wanted to give a discount as 'thank you' for his service, and I was highly impressed with that - many businesses don't know how much that little bit is appreciated (more than financial, it really is a thank you).

I am looking forward to having a reason to order some cupcakes from him - and if he opens a place I'll sure go there. It'd be nice to give Sticky Fingers a little competition for our wedding cake business when the time comes.
