Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello?
Are there any new episodes of this show? It's my favorite show on the food channel as it's really the only food show that I learn anything and may actually want to cook some of the things. I haven't seen any new episodes nor have I seen any reruns of this show. I checked my cable thing and it really seems like they are only showing it in random hours where no one is watching. Are they trying to phase out his show or something? Thanks.

Jfood schedules a lot of his exercise time to watch Michael and Ina. He learns a lot about eating while he loses a lot of his eating. His show is on daily at 1130AM EST in the CT area, so it is not random here.
He also has a great website:

Jfood wishes they would make more episodes of these two.

re: jfood
I have heard a lot of horror stories about what a jerk Michael is IRL. How he terrorized employees, etc, so he has never been a favorite of mine. Sara Moulton is a different story and will be missed.
Is Tyler Florence still staying with Food Network? I like him very much and I think he is the last chef worth his salt at FN.

re: MysticYoYo
Yes, he's a full-fledged terrorizing jerk, to quote you MysticYoYo, and I worked for him.
But he does photograph well, and learns a recipe well enough to repeat it on TV. He has some good ideas from time to time, but the large ego really comes through, IMO.Worship Alton Brown, and adore Tyler Florence and Barefoot Contessa, though I wish she'd learn some basic food chemistry so she didn't misspeak (searing seals in the juices, that kind of silly error...she should know better).

Although jfood loves to watch him and her (see above) his ego does come trough on the screen, just gotta get through it. sorry to burst your bubble on Ina though but if you have ever been her shop in EH then you would be hard pressed to buy or cook anything by her either. And let's remember ms stewart, the raving b&tch and felon. Or maybe Gordon Ramsey. Remember Giada on the Today Show? So we now have at least five tv-chefs who we probably agree are jerks. Thankfully their shows can still teach and their recipes are still good.
Thanks for the "dark side of Mike" input. Basically confirms what you can see in his eyes when he speaks. He may smile with his lips but his eyes do give him away

re: mercyteapot
she supposedly had some guffaws and was nasty.
jfood watched her Weekend Getaway show yesterday in Los Cabos. Let's just say that her scripted shows make her look nicer and more pleasant than when she goes off-script. Jfood likes her cooking but she is definitely another celeb that should use the bull clip on the lips off script.

re: jfood
That's too bad to hear, that she isn't as sweet as she presents herself on the air. I don't know why I'm surprised, though.
I had never heard any of the Michael C. stories either, but they don't surprise me much. I guess it is a little harder for me to reconcile a TV chef's on-air image with their real life personality. I don't seem to have that trouble when I hear that a favorite actor is a jerk in real life, but it is a disappointment when these stories circulate about the FN stars that I like.

re: MMRuth
it closed about two years ago. After jfood's experience the previous years ago he placed it on the DNR list. The stuff was great but jfood thinks she hired staff that needed to score a perfect ten on the "Miserable Human Being Test". He walked out more often then he bought, even when he already had half a basket. Mrs jfood would hear him utter, "Why do people put of with this?" as he exited. Then he consoled himself with a couple of donuts around the corner.

digkv, read through the two other very good threads on this subject. It appears the FN is trying to phase out whatever we associated with the FN. Other than the ooey gooey Paula Deen and the screeching Rachel Ray, it seems as if every other show is an 'insert name here' Challenge!!!!!!!!!
I was dismayed to find out that Sara Moulton is no longer on the air, I enjoyed her on screen persona.
