I go often, food is good, not great, but dependable, good service, good vibe, place is not cheap...but I would not call it verrryyy expensive at all

intrepid, that depends on your definition of moderate, expensive and verrrry expensive.

To me, Polpo is verrry expensive.

I didn't. As I shared, I was at a party and so didn't pay. I had a priced menu, though, and remember the prices being very high. For me.

intrepid, I was coming here to use just that number, since it just popped into my head. I used to be able to tolerate $100. for dinner for two, drinks (1 each) included, as a decently priced expensive restaurant. Previously, 'not' so very long ago, two people could get a dinner at a very good restaurant for $75. These prices are before tax and tip. Harrald's at $65. a head was for special occasions only.

However, suddenly in Westchester we were finding that dinner for two (I usually have two appetizers for my meal) was suddenly creeping to $125., $150. for two.

I find that outrageous but guess what, unless you go to a red sauce place or a pizza joint, there's no getting away from these new and improved prices.

So, yes, I consider places like these verrry expensive and Polpo, as you noted, is in my category of verrry expensive. However, at least I walk out happy and the valet will get my car.

pretty much the same experience as dolores. I've been twice - both for work - and both times my food has been very good. That said, It's been 2 years.

I have only been once, but the food (a party) was very good, the service was also good, and the prices were verrrrrry expensive. Yes, worth going, and they valet park!
