Zinc Bistro - Philly

Good news to report!

We loved our dinner at the new Zinc Bistro, on S. 11th between Spruce and Locust. It's the site of the old La Boheme, but much more attractive.

Four of us thoroughly enjoyed interesting appetizers and delicious mains. Most of the entrees were under $20, though the specials were in the upper twenties. My husband, who has a good appetite, could hardly finish his steak frites - terrific frites! The calves liver was another great choice. Our mushroom tart appetizer was really big enough to share.

This place had the feel of France for us, and good drinks made it even more so. (Not byob.) Excellent and gracious service.

This place moved right up to the top of our list.

  1. Sounds terrific! Do they have vegetarian options?

      They have a website: zincbarphilly.com
You can take a look at their menu and see whether there are enough options.
One friend loved the grilled romaine salad, and they seem to do a lot with eggs and cheese. And that mushroom tart was really good.

Thanks for the heads up. I see they are a sister restaurant to the Caribou Cafe which I've already enjoyed with my vegetarian friend with a fondness for French cuisine, And the Zinc menu seems more varied.

    2. Here's a heads up: don't go there on a cold night. Heard from friends that it is freezing there. Wait until warmer weather.
