Recs nr San Diego Symphony?

Looking to get my in-laws a gift certificate to a restaurant near the SD Symphony and could use some recommendations. Since it's a gift I'd like to send them somewhere special that they wouldn't ordinarily go, but I don't necessarily want the most upscale place in town.

Is Gran Tapa still there? Its right across the street. I went years ago.. Maybe someone else has a take on it..
